Live, not recorded

Online Tutoring

Every online session is live and taught by the same tutors who teach in person, following the same written plan. Nothing here is pre-recorded and nothing is automated. The difference is the room, not the standard.

Sessions run on a shared interactive whiteboard where both the tutor and the student write, so the tutor sees the working rather than only the answer. Each session can be recorded and made available to the family, which turns revision week into something far more useful than a page of old notes.

What is included

Everything that comes with this programme

Live sessions only

A real tutor in real time, every session. We do not sell recorded courses or automated practice as tutoring.

Shared interactive whiteboard

Both sides write on the same board, so the tutor follows the reasoning step by step instead of marking a finished answer.

Session recordings

Sessions can be recorded and shared with the family, which makes revision before an assessment considerably more productive.

Access to every specialist

You are matched with the right subject specialist regardless of where they or you happen to live.

Work submitted between sessions

Students photograph or upload written work, and the tutor annotates it before the next session rather than reading it cold.

Easier scheduling

No travel on either side means early mornings, later evenings and short-notice sessions before a test become practical.

How it runs

The four stages of this programme

1
Technical check

A short setup call before the first session to confirm audio, video, the whiteboard and how work will be uploaded.

2
Same diagnostic, same plan

Online students receive an identical assessment and written learning plan. The format changes, the standard does not.

3
Live weekly sessions

Scheduled sessions on the shared board, with notes afterwards and the recording made available to the family.

4
Regular progress reviews

The same six session review cycle, including a check on whether the online format is genuinely working for this student.

What changes

What families notice first

No travel time on either side of the session

A recording to revisit before assessments

Access to specialists outside your local area

Written work reviewed before the session, not during it

Questions

Common questions about this programme

For most students from roughly age ten upwards, yes, provided the session is live and uses a shared board rather than a camera pointed at a page. Younger children and students who need close supervision to stay on task usually do better in person, and we will say so at the consultation rather than book whichever is more convenient for us.

A laptop or tablet with a working camera and microphone, a stable connection, and ideally a stylus or a graphics tablet for handwritten subjects. A phone works in an emergency but not as a regular setup. We check all of this in a short technical call before the first session.

Yes, and many families do. A common pattern is in person during term time and online through holidays or exam season. It is the same tutor and the same plan either way.

Other programmes

Not quite the right fit?

These programmes are often combined. Many families run one alongside another, or move between them as the year progresses.
